13.11.2011 – Monduran Fishing Update

Now that the water temperature has jumped from 22.5 degrees of a morning to 26.7 degrees at the same time of the morning, there are barra getting caught. Sizes of these barra range from 40 cm to 80 cm long.

The best way to get them is to tie up to a tree with the wind at your back and cast back over a snag in the water or over a weed bed that has got something like 2 or 3 foot of water over it. Now it will all depend on how long it may take this will be up to the person that is fishing.

We are being blessed with the hot days and they are pushing the water temperature up to 30 degrees in the back of the bays and 28 to 29 degrees in the main basin and in the main water ways. The lures that are doing all the damage are really bass lures and lures that will suspend – work them very slowly. Some soft plastics have also been working well.

There are some bigger barra getting hooked up but busting off. Bird bay was one place that barra were caught and up at i . Now while the moon is coming
up just after dark the barra are moving then and around 4pm.
